A famous and legendary element at the place is the teardrop-shaped isle in the South China Sea that was used a background for 1958 movie “South Pacific”. Then Time magazine also named it “one of the world's most beautiful islands in the 1970s”.

First among animals, on land at least, are the giant monitor lizards that roam among the villages in search of food.

 Some of the best parts at the island is firstly, it consists range of things to do involving water sport activities, exploring, and watching Tioman’s various species of wildlife animals like mammals and birds. Secondly, Tioman offers some of the best and most easily accessible dive sites in the world. Next, it is also one of the cheapest places in the world to get a diving certification. Lastly, there are plenty of dive resorts in Tioman so you are sure to get a good package deal.

Tioman is actually reached from the Johor town of Mersing. There's also a direct ferry from Singapore. This popular Malaysia holiday island has two claims to fame that continue to be hyped by media and marketers.

However, there are some disadvantages at the island as well. Firstly, there is no decent internet connection. Moreover, Tioman’s shopping options are quite few with very limited variety of T-shirts, bathing suits and souvenirs. The facilities are very limited too. Tioman island facilities are of Four S café for drinking accommodations and place to vend boat taxi ticket. Lastly, there are not much entertainment too.
