• Note, that the first sentence in a paragraph may not always be the topic sentence.

Practice

• to practice we will first be put into groups

• Group 1: Kam, Michael, and Aiden

• Group 2: Nico, Taiwo, and Randall

• Group 3: Aaron, Ahmed, Jeremiah, and Leo

In your groups

• Take turns and practice identifying the topic sentences

• Find the worksheet on Schoology under week 14 and then the Thursday folder

• Download the worksheet "Topic Sentences A" onto notability

• Share screen and work with your group to identify the topic sentences

At the end of the practice

• Students will be called on at random to identify the topic sentence and earn your group a point

• It is important that everyone in your group participates and works together to earn points.
