Most sentences are made up of clauses.

A main clause makes sense and can stand on its own.

for example, Lushane screamed at Aneka.

A subordinate clause gives extra information but it doesnt make sense on its own. eg. because she broke his toy.

(Lushane screamed at Aneka) because she broke his toy.
