When you are doing unit price you are trying to figure out how much for one item. To do this you need to divide.

3

What do I do with this really big number and where do I round to.

But sometimes when you divide you get this REALLY BIG DECIMAL NUMBER!!! (MRS. STEIGERWALT HELP!!!) Divide $2.98 by 15.5 = 0.192258065 : (

Ok let's look

So first you need only three places after the decimal. 3 - 1, 2, 3. Forget about the rest. Cover it up with your thumb if you need to on your calculator. So our number 0.0192258065 - becomes 0.019. Then that number in the thousandths place the 9 he tells the hundredths what to do. So you get 0.02.

Now you try....

1.)  $13.57  ÷\div  12 =
2.)  $115.63  ÷\div  25 =
3.)  $2.24  ÷\div  9.75 =
4.)  $11.16  ÷\div  3 =
5.) $53.79  ÷\div  12.3 =
