First a review of regular -er and -ir verbs:

comer (to eat)

  • take off the -er and add the endings. ¿yo?

  • com - o como (I eat) ¿tú?

  • com - es comes (you eat) ¿Ud./él/ella?

  • com - e come (you-formal/he/she eats) ¿nosotros?

  • com - emos comemos (we eat) ¿Uds./ellos/ellas?

  • com - en comen

-ir endings are just like -er endings except for one (two) forms

  • You see an "i" in the nosotros (and vosotros) endings: -imos, -ís

  • examples: tú vives, nosotros vivimos; ella escribe, nosotros escribimos

A few common verbs have irregular yo forms. All their other forms follow their pattern.

  • (poner - to put, place) tú pones, ella pone, etc. but yo....

  • (yo) pongo

  • (salir - to go out, leave) tú sales, ella sale, etc. but yo...

  • (yo) salgo

Hacer means "to make, to do"

Pablo hace la cama = Pablo makes the bed

Tú haces la tarea = You do the assignment

Yo hago el proyecto = I do the project

Nosotros hacemos una fiesta = We have (make) a party

The yo form is irregular: yo hago. The rest are regular -er forms.
