What is simple present ?

• We use the simple present tense when an action is happening right now

• Habitual actions or occurrences (Routines)

• Scheduled actions in the near future

Examples :

Pauline plays the piano every day.

I brush my teeth every morning.

I wake up at 6 Am.

How to Form the Simple Present

Most regular verbs use the root form, except in the third-person singular (which ends in -s).

Third-person singular: He/she/it

I play / eat

you play /eat

We play /eat

They play/eat

He / she/ It Plays/ eats

• For example: I studied yesterday.

Regular verbs : add (ed)

Irregular verbs : memorize and practice !
