Definition
Procedure text is a kind of text about How to do something.
A procedure text also contains about series of steps of action

Purpose of Procedure Text
The purpose of procedure text is to describe how an activity is done or how an object is made through a sequence of actions or steps

Generic Structure:
Goal: describing the name of the procedure to be carried out.
Materials: describing lists of objects which are needed (optional).
Steps: describing the methods or steps to follow

In a procedural text, we use imperatives in order to ask a person to do an action. Imperatives have no subjects. They begin with verbs base.

To give an order or command

Examples
1. Follow the steps below.
2. Skim the water surface.
3. Remove the pump, plants, and
decorations.
4. Remove the fish (optional).
5. Clean the bottom of the pond.
6. Remove overgrowth of algae.
7. Clean the pond pump and filter.
8. Put everything back in the pond.

A procedural text consists of the following elements
1.the goal, which is usually the title of the text or in the opening paragraph;
2.a list of ingredients/materials/tools/equipment (optional), which are needed in conducting the procedure
3.the steps or methods to be followed in conducting the procedure

Adverbial Phrases
Definition:
An adverbial phrase is simply a group of two or more words that functions as an adverb in a sentence. Just as an adverb can modify a verb, adjective, or another adverb, an adverb phrase of more than one word can further describe a verb, adverb, or adjective
