Improper Fraction

  • Fractions where the numerator is larger than the denominator.

  • Examples:

Mixed Number

  • A number that has both a whole number and a fraction.

  • Examples:

Converting an Improper Fraction to a mixed Number.

Divide the numerator by the denominator. The quotient becomes the whole number and the remainder becomes the numerator. The denominator stays the same.
