Simile
A simile is a sentence that compares two very different things. However, EVERY simile uses one of the following words:
* LIKE
* AS
* RESEMBLES
* THAN

Simile Example Sentences
The little girl is as light as a feather.
When my mom saw how messy my room was, she turned white as a ghost.
They fought like cats and dogs.
Don’t just sit there like a bump on a log.

Metaphor
A metaphor is a sentence that compares two very different things just like a simile.
HOWEVER, metaphors DO NOT USE the words: *LIKE or *AS
Instead, metaphors commonly compare two things by saying a subject IS or WAS like something else.

Note: they never use "like" or "as"
Jenny is a quiet mouse.
The music of her laughter filled the room.
That boy had dragon breath!
My life is a dream come true!
