Maleficent is a 2014 American fantasy film directed by Robert Stomberg, starring Angelina Jolie as the title character. It is definitely one of the most entertaining family films released that year. In my opinion, this dark fantasy adventure is simply awesome.

The story focuses on the Sleeping Beauty story, but from the perspective of the villainous Maleficent. It was produced by Joe Roth from a screenplay written by Linda Woolverton. The song of the film is "Once Upon a Dream", which is performed by Lana Del Rey.

When the story begins, Maleficent is a beautiful, young fairy with a pure heart. She lives a perfect life growing up in a peaceful forest. She meets and falls in love with a human boy named Stefan (played by Sharlto Copley) who betrays her so he can become king. Wanted to get revenge, Maleficent place a curse on King Stefan's newborn child, Aurora.

Angelina Jolie's role as Maleficent is simply wonderful. This 97-minutes film is visually impressive in 3D, and the colours and special effects of the forest look stunning. It has enough magic, fantasy, and delight for the whole family, and you will definitely enjoy watching this film.
