( 3 5 )²------ (3 ×4)(5×5)

= 12 25

= 1225

(Number in 10s place × next consecutive number)(5×5)

#2 How to multiply numbers of a specific pattern?

What is 16 × 14?

23 × 27?

When two 2 digit numbers are to be multiplied, and if they have the same digit in 10s place, and if the units place digits add upto 10 then........

Example: 23 × 27 = (2×3)(3×7)

(Digit in 10s place × next consecutive number)(product of digits in ones place)

23 × 27 = (2 × 3)(3 × 7) = 6 21

= 621
