FIRST CONDITIONAL
We use the first conditional to talk about future events that are likely to happen.
2
PAY ATTENTION ON THIS
Estamos hablando del futuro.
Estamos hablando de una condición o situación en particular en el futuro, y el resultado de esa condición.
En el Primer Concicional existe una real posibilidad que la condición ocurra.
3
FOR EXAMPLE:
Es de mañana, estás en tu casa, tu planeas jugar fútbol en la tarde, pero hay algunas nubes que oscurecen el cielo, imaginas que va a llover. Qué harias?
↓CONDITION + RESULT
If it rains, I will stay at home.
4
STRUCTURE
El Primer Condicional se compone de dos clausulas que son:
"IF CLAUSE", "FUTURE/MAIN CLAUSE"
"if clause" = CONDITION
"future/main clause" = RESULT
If I study, I will get a good grade
"if clause" , "future/main clause"
CONDITION , RESULT
5
"IF CLAUSE"
El "if clause" es la condición, y se compone por:
IF = si (de condición, no de afirmación)
+ Subject
+ main verb in simple present tense (rules)
+compliment
+ comma (,)
IF I STUDY,
6
"FUTURE/MAIN CLAUSE"
El "future clause" es el resultado, y se compone por:
Subject
+ will (future auxiliary)
+ verb (simple form)
+ compliment
I WILL GET A GOOD GRADE
7
EXAMPLES:
If I go to Ibarra this afternoon, I will visit my mom.
I will visit my mom if I go to Ibarra this afternoon.
Como podemos observar, las clausulas se pueden invertir, pero el significado o el sentido de la oración no se altera.
Cuando el CONDICIONAL (if clause) va al inicio se debe poner la coma para se parar las clausulas.
Cuando el RESULTADO (future clause) va al inicio omitimos la coma.
