Evaporation

Is the process of separating mixtures involve heating until the solvents evaporates turn into gas leaving behind the solid residue

Decantation

A separation of two non-mixing liquid. It is done by pouring out the clear upper layer of liquid.

Seiving

Separating particles of different size. A seive used for sifting flour has a very small holes.

Magnetic

Separate mixtures using magnets to attract magnetic materials.

Filtering

A method of separating an insoluble solid from a liquid.

Picking

The method in which substances in mixture can be separated by just picking them out with the help of hand from the mixture. It is one of the various methods which are carried out in dry conditions. 

Scooping

It is a technique used in separating a less- dense substance from a denser one. The mixture is left undisturbed. When the components are separated, the less-dense substance could be removed by scooping using a spoon or it can be removed by slowly pouring out.  

Flotation

It is a method of separating solid substances by density difference. When put into water, some substances will sink while others will float. The “floaters” can then be skimmed off of the surface.
