Seven Wonders of the World

Our world is filled with the most unique structures that are both man-made and natural. Some of the man-made creations include churches, tombs, temples, monuments, mosques, buildings and even cities. These structures have withstood the test of time and they continue to leave many awestruck (very impressed) with their brilliance. There are many in the world, but only seven are selected, which are deemed to be the best.

Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum complex/tomb in Agra, western Uttar Pradesh state, northern India built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife Mumtaz. It is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture (a blend of Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles). The complex was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983.

Added to the list is the Great Pyramid of Giza, though it is just considered an honorary candidate and not a wonder of the world any more. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.
