Where do bats live?

  • Bats live in roosts

  • A roost is any place a bat goes to rest, usually in caves, tree hallows and old buildings

  • They live all over the world

What do they eat?

  • There are over 1,000 species of bats and they all eat different things such as :

  • Fruit

  • Fish

  • Insects

  • even BLOOD!

How do bats sleep and find their way home?

  • Bats sleep upside down so that it is easier for them to fly away

  • Bats can find their home and also find their prey by something called 'echolocation'

  • Bats can live for more than 20 years

  • They hibernate (like bears) during the winter
