Regular -AR verbs - follow a pattern

How do we get to the stem?

The stem of the verb is the remaining letters after we DROP the letters -AR off the end of the infinitive of the verb.

Think of the verb as a flower….hablar. Once we take off the -AR, we are left with the STEM….  HABL

Now we add back the endings that go with each pronoun

-AR verb endings

• Tú-                           hablas    

• Él, ella, usted-           habla

• Nosotros   -               hablamos   

• Ellos, ellas,ustedes - hablan

Now you can conjugate any regular -AR verb in all 5 forms (I, you, he/she, we, they)
