Aburrir, interesar, gustar
Expressing likes and dislikes

2
Aburrir means "to bore".
In English, we almost always say "Soccer is boring," and everyone knows that you are expressing your opinion. Not so in Spanish.
In Spanish, you say the equivalent of "Soccer bores me."
The way to say this in Spanish is, "Me aburre el fútbol," which puts the object pronoun first and the subject of the sentence at the end. ("El fútbol me aburre, " is also possible, but less common.)
3
Aburrir (and other verbs like it) is almost always used in only the third person.
So you say, "Me aburre el golf," or "Me aburren los deportes."
You DON'T say "Me aburro el golf." The subject isn't "yo" and the "yo" form of the verb isn't used.
Negative sentences place the "no" in front of the object pronoun:
No me aburre la clase de español. No me aburren los partidos de tenis.
4
Vamos a practicar. Repeat the sentences below.
Me aburren las tareas.
Me aburre la historia.

In Spanish, the chocolate is the important part of the sentence. It is expressed: Me gusta el chocolate.
