Adverbs (AdV)

ADVERBS:

• tell you more about verbs, adjectives and other adverbs.

• end in -ly.

• are made by adding -ly to adjectives.

• eg; slow (adjective) + -ly = slowly (adverb)

Example:

1. The children walked quickly into the classroom.

Quick = Adjective / Quickly = Adverb

2. We waited patiently to see the doctor.

Patient = Adjective / Patiently = Adverb
