5.NF.4a Multiplying a Fraction by a Whole Number
We know: when you multiply two whole numbers your product is larger than either of your factors
We learned: When you multiply a fraction by a whole number, your product lands some where in-between your two factors.
Remember: When multiplying a fraction by a whole number, make your whole number a fraction by putting a 1 as the denominator.
To multiply fractions, multiply numerator by numerator and then denominator by denominator.
You may have to use what you know about division to help you solve the problem.
Don't forget: Simplify!

Not all numbers divide evenly into each other. Sometimes you end up with mixed numbers or fractional answers.
