• Om te zeggen dat iets een feit of gewoonte is.

• Om te zeggen dat iets altijd, vaak of regelmatig gebeurt.

• "I always go to football practise on Tuesdays."

• "He usually goes to school by bike."

• Een ontkenning ziet er zo uit:

• "She doesn't like school."

• "They don't listen to their parents."

He/she/it

• Bij he/she/it komt er een -s achter het werkwoord

• "She looks ill."

• "He always talks loudly."

• "It often smells weird."

Ontkenningen in the present simple

• Als je wilt zeggen dat iets of iemand iets niet doet, gebruik je 'not' of 'never'

• "She does not like dogs."

• "They never pay attention."

• "We aren't paying for that."

• "I am not happy."
