Kişilerin konuşma anında veya çok kısa süre öncesinde/sonrasında yaptıkları eylemleri ifade etmek için kullanılır. Türkçe'de şimdiki zaman eki olan ( - yor ) eki ile ifade edilir ( Yürüyor, izliyor, dinliyor )

Olumlu cümle mutlaka ( am/is/are ) yardımcı fiilleri kullanılarak ve fiile (-ing ) eklenerek kullanılır
