• Making inferences about characters means making guesses about their personality based on things they say and do in the story.

• Characters have thoughts and feelings

• Characters can change their thoughts and feelings from the beginning of the story to the end of a story.

• Usually a character changes because of things that happen to them in the story.

• Sometimes characters cause problems, sometimes they just happen.

• Characters react to problems

• The solution to a problem in a story is called the resolution.

• The events in a story is called the plot.
