The first three presidents of the United States were George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson.
In class, we have read various passages about each of these presidents. Videos and books on getepic.com have also been assigned.
The next three slides are a review of some of the things we have learned about these three presidents.
Questions will follow those slides.

George Washington
Known as the "Father of our Country"
First President of the United States of America
Leader of the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War
His face is on the American dollar bill and the quarter
He set the moral precedent of a two term limit for the presidency. He didn't believe that the country needed to become too dependent on one man.

John Adams
First Vice President of the United States of America
Second President of the United States of America
He was not popular because he remained neutral duirng the war between Great Britain and France.
He only served one term as President.
He was a member of the Federalist party.

Thomas Jefferson
Author of the Declaration of Independence
Second Vice-President of the United States
Third President of the United States
He was a member of the Democratic-Republic party
He pushed hard for the Bill of Rights to be added to the Constitution
He had many interests- patron of the arts, inventor, mathemetician
He is responsible for the Lousiana Purchase (a vast amount of land purchased from France)
