How severe is Covid-19?

• 80% of the time, it is mild

• 14% of the cases require medical care

• 5% of the time, it can be deadly (require ICU care)

What does the disease effect?

• Lungs

• Ability to breathe

• Could result in pneumonia

What happens if you get Covid

• You need to be put on a special breathing machine

Who is most at risk

• Older people

• People with underlying conditions

• Ex: Lung issues, ashtma, heart disease and diabetes

Why is slowing down the spread important?

• Younger people can get it too

• Younger people can spread it to older people

• There is a limited number of hospital beds and supplies

• If there is not enough medical care supplies, more people will die

What is flattening the curve?

Reducing the number of covid-19 cases

How do we do flatten the curve?

• Social distancing

• Staying at home

• Wearing a mask when out in public

• Keeping ourselves 6ft away from other people

• Washing our hands and using hand sanitizer often
