Properties Describe Matter
All matter has properties. Some of the easier properties to identify are the color, shape, and size of an object.
These are called physical properties-characteristics of matter that you can observe or measure directly. No matter what terms you use, being able to describe an object using its properties is very important in science.

Amazing Properties of Matter!
Color and shape are two basic properties of matter. Many other properties help you tell one type of matter from another.
Some properties, like reflectivity and response to magnetic forces, are important to scientists and engineer.
8
Amazing Properties of Matter
An engineer designing a new type of magnetic device, would not use wood to build it, because wood does not react to magnetic forces.
Remember how we talked about how somethings can act like a liquid or a solid? Sometimes this is cause by the matter being magnetic.
