How do we hear the sounds?

• The outer ear has an external part, that you can see, a canal for the sound to travel down and an

  eardrum, which vibrates when the sound reaches it. 

• The middle ear has three little bones, which make

  the sound louder and transfers it to the next part. The inner ear transmits the vibrations to the brain.

What happens when the sound reaches the

eardrum?

The eardrum is important because sound is produced by vibratons and the

eardrum vibrates.

If you stand in an empty room and speak at a

normal volume, your voice sounds quite loud.

If the room has lots of soft objects, your voice

sounds quieter.
