Goals push you forward in life
When reaching your goals, it makes you feel positive and accomplished!

You can become easily distracted from your task
It can take longer to achieve what you want
You may be overwhelmed with managing day to day things

Measurable
Achievable and Realistic

S - Specific
Your goal needs to be specific, which means CLEARLY DEFINED
If the result is not clear or understandable, it can be harder to get there
For example: "I want to run a ten minute mile" is specific
" I want to run better" is not specific..... Can you tell my why?
If you have questions after reading the goal, then it is not a SMART goal!

Why is the goal "I want to run better" NOT specific?

M - Measurable
Your goal needs to be measurable, which means there needs to be a way to determine if the goal was achieved.
Having a way to measure your gains and overall goal helps to keep it specific too!
For example: "I want to run a ten minute mile" is measurable with the time limit and length of running.

AR - Achievable and Realistic
Your goal needs to be achievable and realistic, which means it should be reachable for you!
Goals must be achieved with current skills and abilities to make them realistic for you.
For example: if a person wants to run a ten-minute mile, but cannot run a mile, then the goal is not realistic or achievable at the moment. This person should start by setting a goal to run a mile.
Goals are stepping stones to our dreams!
