Multiplying by 6 --- Think x 3

When you have any number times 6,

think about times 3

then double your answer.

For example.... if you are asked 8 x 6 = ?

Think about 8 x 3 = 24

Then double 24 (24 + 24), that equals 48.

So 8 x 3 = 24 and 8 x 6 = 48

Lets look at some examples

• 4 x 6 .... think 4 x 3 = 12 ... then 12 + 12 = 24 so.... 4 x 6 = 48

• 6 x 7 ..... think 3 x 7 = 21... then 21 + 21= 42 so.... 6 x 7 = 21

• 5 x 6 .... think 5 x 3 = 15... then 15 + 15= 30 so .... 5 x 6 = 30

• 6 x 8 .... think 3 x 8 = 24 .... then 24 + 24 = 48 so .... 6 x 8 = 48
