Markets
A market is a place from where two or more parties are involved in buying or selling.
The seller sells goods and services to the buyer in exchange of money.

TYPES OF MARKETS
There are different types of markets :
~Weekly Markets
~Shops in Neighbourhood
~Shopping Complexes and malls

Weekly Markets
A Weekly Market is held on a specific day of the week. There are no permanent shops in a Weekly market.
Traders set up a shop for a day and then close them up in the evening. They set up the shops in another location the next day.

Shops in the Neighbourhood
The shops that sell goods and services in our neighbourhoods are called shops in the neighbourhood.
Many of these are permanent shops, while others are roadside
Stalls such as that of the vegetable hawker, the fruit vendor, the mechanics etc.

Shops in the Neighbourhood
These shops are near our home and we can go there on any day of the week.
These shops provide goods on credit.

Shopping in Mall and Complexes
Markets in an enclosed area with variety of shops are called Shopping Complexes.
Multi storeyed air conditioned buildings with shops on different floors selling branded products are called Malls.

Chain of Markets
~Goods are produced in factories, on farms and in homes.
~The wholesale trader first buys goods in large quantities.
~The other big traders buy goods from Wholesellers.
~The Retailers buy goods from these big traders.
~We, as Consumers buy goods from retailers.

Markets And Equality
~There is a vast difference between the shop keepers at the weekly markets and the malls.
~The former earns a very meagre amount as compared to the latter. This shows the inequality in the markets.
~There is inequality in the buyers too. This proves that whether a seller or a buyer, the status of the person depends on his financial strength.
