The root word in preposition is POSITION.


The group of letters that in front before the root word is known as a prefix.


PRE - is the prefix

POSITION - is the root word


When these group of words appear after the root word, they are called suffixes. EXAMPLE - PEACEFUL.

PEACE - is the root word

FUL - is the suffix.

Prepositions show the relationship between one noun or pronoun and another. They often tell us about position.
