Dialogue Tags and Quotation Marks

There are three ways we use them.

At the BEGINNING of a sentence

• Dad shouted, “Watch out for the ball!”

• Mrs. Brown asked, “How was your break?”

• Coach yelled, “Remember what we’ve practiced.”
