Compound Subjects

• Joe eats his lunch in school. Eva eats her lunch in school

• The students went to class. The students had a quiz.

• Alexa likes to listen to Taylor Swift. Victoria likes to listen to Taylor Swift.

Compound Predicates - combine the sentences using coordinating conjunctions - FANBOYS

• Ashley has a new job. Ashley is saving for a computer.

• The friends went to the mall. The friends ate in the food court.

• Marissa's birthday is today. Marissa is getting a new iPad as a gift.

Appositives - a word or phrase that identifies or tells more about someone or something. It follows the noun it identifies and has a comma before and after it.

• My sister, Debbie, is two years younger than me.

• Susan, my friend, goes to the same dance class I go to.

• Captain America, the superhero, is my favorite character.
