Refrigeration Systems is about?

What is this course all about?

This 3 unit course is designed to provide a thorough foundation of the thermodynamic principles and components of mechanical refrigeration systems, cycles and associated equipment, and the effect of their operation on the environment. This subject is prerequisite to air-conditioning and ventilation.

What do you expect to get from this subject?

What you should expect to learn from this course?

1. Apply the basic mass and heat transfer principles in the analysis of refrigeration systems.

2. Solve problems involving different refrigeration systems.

3. Evaluate and compare the different properties of refrigerants used in refrigeration systems and propose alternative refrigerants.

4. Evaluate and compare existing refrigeration systems with other systems under consideration. Make recommendations to improve existing ones.

What will we do in this course?

1. Synchronous discussion for concepts, theories and how to use the formula, tables, etc.

2. Asynchronous discussion for problem solving 3. Reporting Formative assessments such as interviewing, researching, doing field work, inspection, etc.

4. Summative assessment such as long quiz, major examinations

 How are we going to do them?

1. For the synchronous discussion, we will use teams
