There are 2 types of verbs in the PAST TENSE: Regular & Irregular verbs.

Most REGULAR VERBS
add -ed at the end of the verb.
For example: walk -> walked
Ms. Johnson walked to the park for a stroll.

If the verbs end with -e, we add -d
For example: die -> died
She was hit by a truck and died.
NOTE:
die, died >> VERBS
dead >> ADJECTIVE

delete -y and add -ied
For example: marry -> married
