Types of Data

• Categorical - fit into categories or groups (typically not numbers)

• Quantitative - always numbers, can be used in statistical calculations, examples: time, score on a test, cost

• Identifiers - Used to identify one specific thing (social security number, student ID, purchase order, credit card number, etc)
