Binary Fission

Happens in cells without a nucleus. One parent cell divides to create two identical daughter cells.

A new organism develops from an outgrowth or bud of parent organism.

Fragmentation / Regeneration

  • Parent organism breaks into fragments, each capable of growing into clones of the parent.

  • Regeneration is usually a type of regrowth (like a lizard losing its tail and growing another). If the piece that broke off is big enough it will grow a new organism.
