Emotions and Responses

  • Emotions happen on the inside.

  • Responses can happen on the inside or outside.

  • Emotions and Responses are very related! We want to recognize our Emotions and then take control of our Responses.

There are 4 zones of regulation:

  • Green Zone

  • Blue Zone

  • Red Zone

  • Yellow Zone

Green means:

  • calm

  • relaxed

  • focused

  • content

  • happy

Blue means:

  • tired

  • lonely

  • bored

  • sad

  • disappointed

Red means:

  • enraged

  • inconsolable

  • hysterical

  • terrified

  • angry

Yellow means:

  • silly

  • excited

  • worried

  • scared

  • frustrated
