coordinate grid:

• A grid formed by 2 number lines that intersect at their zero points and form right angles.

Ordered pair:

• Two numbers that are used to locate a point on a rectangular coordinate grid.

Origin:

• The point where the two axes of a coordinate grid meet.

X-axis: 

• The horizontal line on a coordinate grid.

Y-axis:

• The vertical line on a coordinate grid.

Standard Notation:

• Numbers written as numerals. The most familiar way of writing numbers.

Expanded Notation:

• A way of writing a number as the sum of the values of each digit.

• 1253 = 100 + 200 + 50 + 3

• 0.25 = 0.0 + 0.2 + 0.05
