Comparing Ratios
Ratios are useful for making comparisons. For example, in one karate class, the student-to-teacher ratio may be 18 , which means that there are 8 students for every 1 teacher. In another class, the ratio may be 112 , which means that are there are 12 students for every 1 teacher. The ratio 112 is greater than 18 , so the second karate class has a greater student-to-teacher ratio.
