Place Value

Each digit in a number has it's own value that is based off the location of the digit in the number.

Rounding

• Underline the digit that needs to be rounded

• Look at the number to the right

• If the number is 0-4 the underlined number stays the same

• If the number is 5-9 the underlined number goes up

• Numbers in front stay the same

• Numbers behind become zero
