ACTIVITY
Use a paper and a mirror.
Ask two learners to come and see themselves.
Ask them which one could they see their reflection?
Introduce the idea that some surfaces do not reflect light and also introduce the word absorb.

Paulo can see himself in the mirror because it reflects his image back to him.
Mateus cant see himself in the wooden chopping board because wooden surface absorbs light.

-All objects reflect light or absorb light.
- Flat, shiny surfaces reflect light best.
-The amount of reflection depends on the surface of the object.
-If a surface reflects light very well you will be able to see your reflection in the surface.
- Rough surfaces absorb light.

NOTE
A piece of paper is smooth and flat. However, if you look at a piece of paper under a microscope, you'd see that it actually contains lots of bumps.paper absorbs a lot more light than it reflects.
