Ancient Egypt is one of the oldest civilization in the world. The word ANCIENT means long long time ago. The Egypt first turned out to be small, then it growled bigger bigger and bigger.

Ancient Egypt relied on the Nile River. The Nile river is shape like a lotus flower. The Nile is the longest river in the world. The Nile help The Egyptians grow crops and have drinking foods. The Nile had a rich soil so crops can be grown easily on the black land of Egypt. The Egyptians call this The gift of the Nile. Even right now the Egyptians still relied on the Nile river. Whenever it's spring the snow will melt the Nile river will flood. This is a good thing.

The Pharaoh

In some countries like the U.S.A they have a president but in other countries they might have a king or a queen. In Egypt they call it a PAHROH. The Pharaoh Is on top of the Social Pyramids . The word PAHROH means "great house". The Pharaoh makes the rules but needs help from his advisor. Although The Pharaoh had total power he was blamed for anything that went wrong.

Government Official

The government of ancient Egypt was a theocratic monarchy as the king ruled by a mandate from the gods, initially was seen as an intermediary between human beings and the divine, and was supposed to represent the gods' will through the laws passed and policies approved.

Nobles

Nobles in Egyptian society were related to the pharaoh, priests, scribes, doctors, lawyers, or important military personnel. Many of the nobles were overseers of the lands worked by peasants. Taxes from these lands were paid to the government in the form of crops or cattle.

Priest

Priests played an important role in ancient Egypt. The priesthood was responsible for ensuring the earth and heavens remained as the gods created them. Some Egyptians were considered priests simply because they had undergone training in rites that enabled them to perform certain technical tasks in the temples.

Visors

Not only Pharaohs make the rules by themselves. Visors help the Pharaoh make the laws . The Visors was the highest official in ancient Egypt to serve the pharaoh during the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms.

Soldiers

The foot soldiers, also called the infantry, were armed with a variety of weapons including spears, axes, and short swords. Chariots were an important part of the Egyptian army. They were wheeled carriages pulled by two fast warhorses. Two soldiers rode in a chariot.

Scribes

Scribes were people in ancient Egypt (usually men) who learned to read and write. Although experts believe that most scribes were men, there is evidence of some female doctors. These women would have been trained as scribes so that they could read medical texts.

Merchants

Egyptian merchants (actually, they were more like traders) carried products such as gold, papyrus made into writing paper or twisted into rope, linen cloth, and jewelry to other countries. In exchange, they brought back cedar and ebony wood, elephant tusks, panther skins, giraffe tails for fly whisks, and animals such as baboons and lions for the temples or palaces.

Craftsmen

Craftsmen in ancient Egypt were usually trained and skilled labourers. They were often well-respected in the community and had a comfortable lifestyle. Yet every craftsman's lifestyle and social standing depended on the quality of his skills and experience. Thus, some craftsmen had more difficult lives than others.

Farmers and Slaves

Slaves were very important in ancient Egypt as a big part of the labor force, but they were also used for many other purposes. Many slaves were house servants, gardeners, farm labor, musicians and dancers of excellent talent, scribes (those that kept written documents), and accountants. Although Slaves were helpful there were the least respected.
