Our Activity
Today we are going to be creating our own portraits in the style of Julian Opie.
You will need:
Paper
A pencil
A photo of you or someone else
A black pen or marker
Coloured pencils
18
Step One:
Put your paper over the top of your photo and trace the outline of the person using pencil.
Make sure you don't include any details like your eyes or mouth.
Hint: You might find it easier to trace in a place with lots of light.
19
Step Two:
Check you have traced accurately and add in any lines you have missed.
Go over your pencil lines using a black marker to create the outline.
Hint: Remember not to lean on your work of you might smudge it.
20
Step Three:
Using coloured pencils, colour each part of the picture using one colour.
Make sure you only colour in one direction so that your picture looks smooth and neat.
Use the black outline to help you stay inside the lines.
21
Step Four:
Upload a photo of your artwork to Google Classroom so we can share some with you in Collective Worship.
Answer the questions below:
1. What did you like/dislike most about Julian Opie's artwork?
