ANSWER
1st Step: Find -3 on the y axis.
2nd Step: look left or right to see where a point is.
This one is left.
Identify that point.
The x-coordinate is the answer
ANSWER: x = -2

REVIEW
Discrete Graph: A discrete graph is a series of unconnected points.
(a scatter plot)
5
Continuous Graph
Graphs that appear as one smooth curve or line, with no holes or gaps.
The graphs continue past what we can see. Usually, they have arrows on the end of the line to tell you they keep going.
6
Continuous Graph
Continuous graphs contain all the points that are nice integers, like (4,1).
They also contain ALL the points in between the dots. (highlighted)
7
Identifying Specific Domain and Range Values
We are going to do the same thing we did with discrete graphs.
We are going to be given an x-value and asked for the y-value.
And we will be given a y-value and asked for the x-value.

Example 1
Given the graph, find the value of y when x = 3.
1st Step: Find 3 on the x-axis.
