Producers or Plants

Plants energy from the sun

Plants get matter from the air and water

Plants need Carbon dioxide, water and nutrients to live

Decomposers

Decomposers give nutrients to the soil

Multiple Choice

Plants get matter from?

• the sun

• the soil and oxygen

• air and water

Animals

• Animals need oxygen, water and matter/food

• Animals eat to get energy and matter

• Animals turn matter into energy by releasing gas into the air

• Animals use matter for their blood, bones, muscles, skin and growth

Multiple Select

Animals need the following three things to live? CHOOSE THREE

• oxygen

• water

• food/matter

• sunlight

• decomposers

Food Chains

• If an animals goes away from the food chain it will affect the other animals in the food chain

• Food Chain Path: Sun-Producer-Consumer

• All food webs include producers because they make energy go around in a food chan

• Prey: The animal that gets hunted/eaten

• Predator: The animal that HUNTS the food

Fill in the Blanks

All food chains must include?

Food Chains

Start with the SUN

PLANTS GO NEXT

THEN HERBIVORE

AFTER IS CARNIVORES

AND FINALLY DECOMPOSERS

Food Chains

Food chains show how energy in an ecosystem flows

For example, energy starts with the sun, and then a plant receives energy from the sun.

A cow will eat the plant to get energy and matter and then a cougar will eat the cow to get energy and matter

Multiple Choice

Which of the following can be a decomposer?

• the sun

• a plant

• a tiger

• a mushroom
