If someone ordered 3 teas,

he wouldn't write

t+t+t

He'd just write 3t

It's much quicker & easier!

Simplifying is just writing things

as simply as possible, like Fred did!

For example

instead of t + t + t

we just write 3t

so we say t + t + t = 3t
