Due to the limited ability of the English subject pronoun "you", we are forced to add a qualifier after it to describe plural subject pronouns to whom we are directly speaking (second person).


For example: You are my best friend.


You all are my best friends. OR You are all my best friends.

Singular and Plural Subject Pronouns in Spanish

In Spanish, like in English, there are singular and plural subject pronouns. We use tú or usted for "you" when we are talking to just one person (singular).


When we are talking to more than one person (plural),we use "ustedes", regardless of formality.
