Solo Jump Rope

  • one person is using a jump rope by themselves

  • Correct size of rope: Stand on the middle of the rope with your feet together. The rope handles or ends of the rope should come your ribs, just below your armpits.

  • Hold the end of the rope so the part you jump over is pinched by your thumb and pointer finger (wrap any extra rope around your hand)

3

regular start (Starting the rope to jump over):

  • middle of rope touched back of calves

  • hands held together above waist level with elbows mostly straight

  • Move hands to side of waist

  • keep elbows close to body

  • turn wrist and rotate elbows back then up then forward then down

  • START your jump when the rope is in front and about even with your face.

  • land on toes and keep ankles and knees slightly bent (soft landing like the ankles were springs) and gently, slowly BOUNCE on toes.
