Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Trust:
Firm belief in the reliability, truth or ability of someone or something.
Trust works in relationship and for me to trust in someone it will be based on a good and strong relationship.
When we are sick, we take medication prescribed by medical professionals and we believe it will work because we trust in their knowledge and experience.
To trust in God we have to belief that he is reliable, believe in his truth (word), we have to believe that he is able to do what he says he will do.

When the bible says ' do not lean on your own understanding'. The bible is being serious. Your heart is deceitful, your emotions fluctuate, your understanding does not see the overall big picture. God never lies, God never changes, God knows all. Trust him.
I admit it is difficult to trust God admit anxiety, heartache, grief and uncertainty but I have learnt to trust God one circumstances at a time.

He is a good and faithful God, he keeps to his word. He never says a thing and changes his mind. His promises are yes (sure) and Amen (believe).
2 Corinthians 1: 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
Isaiah 55:11 So is my word that goes out from my mouth: will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
