Mit dem Verb "(to) have got" kann man ausdrücken, dass jemand etwas besitzt oder etwas hat. Wir können es im Deutschen oft mit "haben" übersetzen.
I have got a pencil.
My friend has got a nice pencil case.

Genauso kann man auch ausdrücken, wenn man etwas nicht hat:
I haven't got a pencil.

Es gibt also bejahte Aussagesätze (positive statements) und Verneinungen (negations).
